FAQs

  • What should I expect during my physiotherapy treatment?

Your physiotherapist will complete a comprehensive assessment of your condition, design a personalised rehabilitation plan, and provide education and exercises to help you recover and prevent recurrence. Treatment may include manual therapy, exercise prescription, posture and movement training, and self-management strategies.

  • Why do you conduct triage assessments by phone?

Our telephone triage assessments allow patients to speak to a physiotherapist quickly, often within a few days. This helps us:

Identify patients who need urgent care or imaging

    Provide early exercises and advice

Ensure in-person appointments are reserved for those who most need them
It’s an efficient, safe, and patient-centred way to start your treatment journey.

  • How do I access physiotherapy through Bradford Physiotherapy?

You can access our services either by referral through your GP practice or via a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) appointment. If your GP surgery has an FCP service, you can ask the receptionist for a physiotherapy appointment directly—no GP appointment is needed.

  • How long will my treatment last?

The length of treatment varies depending on your condition and goals. Your physiotherapist will agree on a plan with you during your assessment and regularly review your progress using outcome measures.

  • Is there a cost for physiotherapy?

If you are referred through the NHS, your physiotherapy is free at the point of access. Private and occupational health services may be available separately—please contact us for details.

  • What should I wear and can I bring someone with me?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows your physiotherapist to assess the affected area and movement easily. For example, shorts for leg conditions or a vest for shoulder or upper back issues.

Yes. You are welcome to bring a friend, family member, or carer for support during your appointment.
